Heil Sound has introduced its new PR 37 professional microphone. Designed with the vocalist in mind, the PR 37 produces natural, articulate sound over a wide frequency range. Its excellent upper mid-range response has been designed to cut through a mix whether live or in the studio. It features a 1.5″ diameter dynamic element that is mounted in a rugged housing to reduce handling noise. The PR 37 has a frequency response from 40 to 18,000 Hz and an output level of -48.9 dB @ 1000 Hz.
The PR 37 joins an already impressive lineup of vocal microphones from Heil Sound, extending the evolution of the PR 35 while adding in design elements of the PR 22. The company worked with several FOH mix engineers, both with the initial design and subsequent field testing of the new microphone. John Hopkins, FOH for the bands Sleep, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, stated, “The PR 37 immediately moved to the top of the list for my go-to vocal mic. It’s a super transparent mic and the rejection of stage noise is incredible.” Adam Pike, working with the PR 37 and Red Fang had a similar response, “The Heil PR 37 is a beast! Very rich and smooth low-mids along with the pristine high-mids that Heil is known for. The extremely sturdy casing is also a great added bonus.”
The PR 37 represents the next evolution of the Heil Sound brand and is now shipping. The retail price is $269.00 USD.
The PR37. Can’t wait!!! ?
I would LOVE to hear it against the PR35 and a SM58, in a stage environment.
Lookin for a Beta 58A replacement, I assume the PR 37 is what you would recommend
Definitely!
This is great news. Any plans of adding a wireless capsule in the future?
Yes.
When will there be a wireless capsule
Not sure yet, but not during the pandemic.
Recently found out that when singing with Queen, Paul Rogers, one of my favourite singers, not only because of his voice, but his personality too, used the Pr22 capsule instead of the ridiculously expensive Shure Ksm9. How amazing! It suited his voice fantastically I think. It just sounded exactly like him. Brilliant!
hello
do you make a wireless capsule? as RC 35
best
stephane
Not yet.
What is the performance of this like when cupped by a….less than intelligent singer? I know the PR-35 has excellent performance when correcting for incorrect mic technique, do you keep that with this new mic?
HAHAHA! It can be cupped. It performs very similarly to the PR 35. Thanks for asking.
I purchased two HEIL PR-35 Microphones when they were first released . I have a very powerful voice and there was a slight pop when I was singing , I had to add another layer of foam inside the Front Grill Screen , I was careful not to touch the diaphragm , I kept it FLAT ( NO ROLL OFF ) at the Bass Roll Off slider and the PR35 sounded very powerful and clean with lots of Mid range . the Pr35 is an awesome Mic and I cant wait to use the PR-37 , they would have fixed all these things .

It is the third week of July when will the Heil PR 37 be available to purchase? I already have the PR 35.
Love the enthusiasm!
It is now July 20th how much longer before the release of the Heil pr 37 mic.? I already own the Heil pr 35 and waiting on the arrival of the Heil pr 37. Any dealer recommendations?

Like Percy up there – I’ve been using a PR35 for quite a while and would like to try one of the new 37s when they are available. The depth and clarity of the 35 made a real difference in my ability to hear myself when singing with others.
It’s shipping now!
Trying to holdout to get the new Heil pr-37mics, But the long wait has made me consider the Telefunken M-81. I already own theHeil pr-35 and the Telefunken M-80 both very transparent. For me the Heil has a more powerful output but the M-80 can be turned up to match the pr-35 because of strong feedback rejection. I think M-80 a bit more of a natural sound. Both mics could use improvement in the upper and lower mid range so I am assuming that both the pr-37 and the M-81 will both sound better than the pr35 and m-80. You can put mine in a brown paper lunch bag and ship it out. LOL p.s. preorder discount would be nice.

I just received mine. Thank you so much for sending it to me. It looks and feels glorious but the sound. HOLY COW. I no longer care to ever use any other vocal mic. Everything else is now a disappointment compared to this. It’s a beast and a tank on steroids. WOW! Thank you Heil Sound. Woohoo!
We’re so glad you love it!
Hi Percy. I’ve done some research on the M80 and the M81. Apparently on the M81 the top end is smoothed/rolled off slightly, which I think means that it’s not going to sound as ‘crisp’ at the top end as the M80. I don’t think the M81 is seen as purely a vocal mike. Hope that helps.
I’m going to go for a PR37 when I can justify it. It’s New technology, (a result of years of continuous development). It’s got a higher output level than every other dynamic mike I’ve researched. great range, very good max SPL. I’m so curious! Exciting…stay well.
Blessings,
Phil
When are likely to have the wireless capsule PR37 available to ship?
Thank you for your interest. We will eventually be making an RC 37 capsule, but that will definitely not be doing that during the pandemic.
Just receiverd my PR37 this week- After one band rehersal I can allready say that this is upgrade from Pr35. Great, more detailed sound, more sophisticated.
I am very happy with this mic! Thanks Bob& Crew!
review and short demo coming up on my Youtube channel today in case you are interested

I bought my second PR35 Mic as soon as I heard how good the PR35 was for my Voice , yes I do have a very strong voice and I did get some pops when I hit a strong loud note . I did fix the poping on the PR35 and I will share my secret with Bob Heil when he contacts me on my Email . I wanted to buy the PR37 when I saw it was selling for US $269.00 but the stores would not deliver to Australia for some stupid reason .
I believe the PR37 would be an outstanding Mic and it is an insult when people use horrible mics to compare it with like a Shure SM58 a Beta58 or a KSM9 which I owned because the PR35 leaves all of these for Dead as far a fullness Clarity and projection . I owned a Neuman 105 and Neuman have rolled the Bass from this Microphone at 125 Hz and it sounds like a Tin Can . Truly I cannot wait to get my hands on a Heil PR37 Mic. Microphone if someone will sell me one.
Hi Gino,
We don’t have a distributor in Australia right now, but we are hoping that will change this year. You can order directly from us at heilsound.com/shop.
