Professional microphone manufacturer Heil Sound and MIC CHECK, makers of the fresh wipe microphone cleaner and sanitizer that bears its name, have teamed up. In a deal arranged at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim, all Heil Sound microphones and boom headsets will be shipped with one MIC CHECK fresh wipe.
The MIC CHECK wipe is a cleaning product that is specifically designed for microphones. Founded in 2010, inventor Reed Tyack, a working musician saw a need for a product that could travel with the entertainer and be easy to use. “Most musicians use some form of bleach wipes, which contain ammonium chloride, to clean their mics. This chemical can actually damage vocal cords. MIC CHECK uses a combination of ethyl, alcohol, mint and water which is much better for both the user and the mic.”
The reaction from the music community has been very positive. Mark Barratto, the company’s “Director of Freshness,” comments, “We believe that we have a hit on our hands. Every musician that uses MIC CHECK becomes a convert to a safer and germ-free way of performing. Teaming up with a company of Heil Sound’s stature connects us to a large group of serious artists.”
