June 12-15, 2008 once again brought the massive Bonnaroo Festival to tiny Manchester, TN where 80,000 fans witnessed shows from 156 acts on approximately 18 assorted stages, tents and lounges. Sound systems were assembled, lighting and video rigs hung and band gear flowed. And while attendance figures remain impressive, another million or so people were able to hear Bonnaroo performers as they conducted interviews and gave impromptu performances through Heil Sound microphones at the Bonnaroo Radio Broadcast Compound located on the festival grounds.
Five broadcast studios, two production studios as well as a performance area were assembled with thirty different radio stations rotating through each. Ten Heil PR 40’s handled the bulk of the broadcast studio work while PR 35s, PR 30s and PR 20s were used for artists during live in-studio performances. All in all over 220 hours of live broadcast were created and sent from the Radio Bonnaroo Compound.
