The Fender Center for the Performing Arts has chosen Heil Sound as its official microphone provider for its recording program and sound reinforcement use. PR 20’s, PR 30’s and PR 40’s are now in use throughout the unique and prestigious facility located in Southern California.
Founded in 1997, the Fender Center for the Performing Arts was envisioned as the cultural anchor for a new entertainment district for a redeveloped area of Corona, CA. Since its inception, the Fender Center has strived to celebrate the circle of music; from history, to education, to performance.
Debbie Shuck is the Director of Operations for the center and couldn’t be happier with the Heil relationship. “Bob and Sarah Heil visited us initially to discuss general needs and goals of the center and they immediately ‘got it’.” They transcend the typical vendor relationship and have become part of the Fender Center family.” Also pleased is Chief Audio Engineer Kelly McGuire who oversees both Studio FM, a 48 track digital recording studio, as well as the various live concerts at the Fender Center. Artists such as Paul Rodgers and Steve Miller have performed at the centers’ TLC outdoor amphitheater. McGuire states, “I’m continually impressed every time I put up a Heil microphone. The mics simply deliver wonderful tone and their quality is outstanding.”
Through the Fender Center’s primary outreach focus, the Kids Rock Free Program, the Center currently offers professional caliber performing arts education including guitar (students use scaled down Fender Stratocasters handmade at the Fender Custom Shop in Corona), bass, keyboard and vocal performance to children ages 7-17. Since the programs inception in 1998, over 8,000 Southern California children have participated and received free and low cost musical education.
